(can't drink alcohol here so I'll toast you with milk, instead) Department of Veterans Affairs and especially the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System (Denver VA) is using them here! Perfect size, perfect shape for my specific incisions, perfect thickness, perfect firmness for squeezing while maintaining enough thickness to still help pushing that pain away (barely getting any of the pain away but it still helps a lot to me personally to push down on several incisions simultaneously.) I glad the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. It's quickly becoming a great cuddle buddy!! I absolutely love (no pun intended for the heart shape lol) this pillow as it's the perfect size and shape for clutching it against my stomach during my ever so frequent (nonstop really) spasms. “I have one of your pillows, here at the Denver VA Hospital / ICU, following major stomach surgery this morning. So, thank you for making these pillows! I'm sure there are so many lives you impact daily by providing these.” I have my strength, my faith, my support system, the Hospital and my pillow to thank for that. I hope to have to never go through this surgery again, but I am so thankful for this pillow even though it wasn't an open-heart surgery and I am so thankful for the staff I came in contact with at the Wise Regional Heath System.Ģ weeks out of surgery and I am already returning to work, walking around like normal, and doing things that most people can't at this point. It reminds me how strong I am to have gone through this surgery and to continue to push to be healthy. ![]() It helps me sit up, ride in the car, and sleep at night. It helps me when I laugh, cough, cry, and sneeze. It will now be 2 weeks since my surgery, I carry my pillow with me everywhere at the moment. I guess I decided to be different and go backwards. My neurologist is doing more research into this because I have no symptoms and most people have the symptoms and then the tumors are discovered. This rare disease is usually associated with my type of tumors. I then found out I tested positive for Myasthenia Gravis. The tumors came back as thymuses the largest was 6 inches in size and a B2. The surgeon removed both tumors and all of my thymus tissue left. Since mine was open chest surgery it was very similar. When I woke up from surgery they gave me a heart pillow that they would usually give open heart surgery patients. The day of my surgery Monday, ApI was surprisingly calm. After a lot of crying, praying and communicating with family I decided to do it. ![]() The second surgeon then notified me that I had two tumors (the first surgeon never told me about the second one) at this point he decided cracking my chest open to remove both of them was the best option for me. Little did I know it was a a blessing from God. The original plan was to remove it through my side, but due to insurance issues I had to change surgeons a week before my scheduled surgery. The oncologist decided removal with surgery was the best plan of action. It turned out I had a tumor right between my heart and left lung. After several X-Rays and CT scans I was then sent to an oncologist and then to get a biopsy. From there I had to see my doctors back home in Wichita Falls. What they found was a mass in my left lung. They decided to do a chest X-Ray to make sure it was phenomena. “It started in January when I had the flu, I ended up in an urgent care while I was visiting my family in Tucson, AZ.
